Emmeline Somerville is the resident philanthropist at The Rosewood Academy for Academic Excellence. She cares deeply about human rights, animals, the planet and most of all, her friends at Rosewood. But sometimes caring so much about other people means the one person you should care about most—yourself—gets overlooked. Now that her former boyfriend Dave is with her roommate Brooklyn, Emmie tries to move forward, but it’s hard because maybe she wasn’t completely over Dave and perhaps she isn’t completely okay with him and Brooklyn dating. Or maybe the worst part is being left behind.
To add to Emmie’s troubles, in a moment of panic, she’s made an accusation against a member of the community—a troubled boy with a mysterious past—and now she must face the consequences of her split-second decision. Consequences she never could have seen coming. Consequences that will change both of their lives forever.
And then there’s Rob, Brooklyn’s older brother and the new handyman working on campus at Rosewood. He’s gorgeous and funny and shares Emmie’s love for movies. Sort of. What at first seemed like a fun way to pass time starts to turn into more than either of them bargained for. And when the Christmas holidays arrive, Emmie has to say goodbye to her friends and Rob to face the holidays on her own.
This Point Forward is the fifth book in The Rosewoods, an exciting new Young Adult series for readers who love fun, flirty love stories.

Emmeline’s story was such a page turner and an incredible book. She is such a giving person and is so kind hearted, yet she feels all the emotions everyone else feels. For example, jealousy. I really love how she handled all the relationships between boys and friends and how she delt with her emotions. I also love how she encourages her friends to go with what their heart is telling them. I cannot wait to read the next book!Product details

This Point Forward The Rosewoods Book 5 eBook Katrina Abbott Reviews
Really enjoyed this book. So far I have loved the change of point of views that Katrina has done in the various books and this one did not disappoint! This particular book was told from Emmie's point of view. The one thing that this book had that the others didn't was the inclusion of the bad boy - loved him and this story! Such a great pairing! I am totally ready for Book 6 to come out.
A cutesy romance featuring one of our favorite Rosewood girls, Emmie. Emmy is a rich girl but in all the things that matter, she's poor, lacking. She's lonely, the holidays are approaching, and her best friend/roomate is leaving for who knows how long. Her ex-boyfriend wants to date her roomate, she's offended a troubled kid, and she's crushing on her best friend's brother. Her life is all too climatic.
Emmie's story was fun because despite all of her inner turmoil her book was light and fun, not unlike the others. The one thing that this book had that the others didn't was the inclusion of the bad boy. I really liked his character. It was like the spice of the book and I enjoyed it. I can't wait to see more if we get more. (Katrina, *hint hint*) Another great addition to a fun series!
Emmie has not been my favorite character in the series, but I really liked this book. What I love about the whole series is that all the girls are so supportive of each other and that there is nothing inappropriate for YA readers (no mean girls, drugs or sex) yet the books are so engaging and fun to read. Katrina does such a good job describing the characters' thoughts and feelings that you can't help but root for each of them, and she incorporates serious issues into her books so masterfully to show their human side but not being overtly educational or preachy about it. This is one of my favorite YA series, and one I will let my daughters read when they become older teens.
It's after Thanksgiving, during junior year at Rosewoods Academy. Brooklyn left suddenly for London and Emmie is now alone again in her room. This, of course, is difficult for her because of her separation anxiety issues. Chelly steps in as best she can to be a good friend and the two girls grow closer and do a lot more together during the last few weeks of the semester.
But Emmie is still lonely and it's not helping that she's still trying to avoid Dave. But Brooklyn's brother, Rob, is still on campus in all his hotness. And Emmie and Rob get a little more involved than they probably should.
But along comes a new hot stranger who has a definite dangerous vibe. Could Danny be that "bad-boy" Emmie's been looking for? Or is he even too bad for her?
This was a fun book to read, but definitely emotional. There were a lot of deeper issues brought up in this book too. More so than the previous books. I love how all these girls are so supportive of each other. This is just a good YA series and I'm really enjoying it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this addition to the Rosewoods series! I still miss Brooklyn and can't wait for the continuation of her story.
Can't wait for the next book. Easy read, interesting story.
I do believe this is my favorite of the installments so far. These books keep getting better ) I look forward to reading more.
If you're into high school romance, a little bit of mysteries and a lot of hot guys, this book series is for you!
