I'd been looking for a clear and conciese introduction to wireless technologies (like bluetooth, WiFi etc...), but this is very hard to come by on the web! Most of what is out there is very superficial and high-level, and didn't really help.This book does a good job of introducing what wireless technologies are, how they're used and goes into some level of detail around how they're implemented. I've always wanted to understand what "WiFi Channels" are and how these technologies deal with radio interference etc..., and this book provides that at sufficient detail, without too much techno-babble.
The only thing that could be better is that the book seems to not be formatted very well on my kindle.
Otherwise, an excellent read for anyone looking for a quick introduction to how wireless tech works.

WIRELESS NETWORKING INTRODUCTION TO BLUETOOTH is an excellent introduction to the new world of networking; connecting your computer to others in order to share information. We have been networking our computers for years. But, now, it is as easy as activating the often-unused bluetooth feature of your laptop to allow you to join in. And Gordon has made setting up and using a wireless network easy to understand with his down to Earth writing style that takes you straight to the point. Excellent read.
Too concise what I expected.
good inteoduction
My father decided to finally upgrade his coffee shop with WiFi for his customers, along with Bluetooth devices that were linked to the stores computers. The only problem is that he isn't tech savvy at all! And with him being too proud to hire an expert to set him up, I got the joy of visiting him to help out.
Now of course, since I am not an expert, he would not listen to any of my advice. And to be honest, it's probably a good thing he didn't. I considered myself to be good with technology, and I thought I knew what I was doing.....until I read this book!
And what a good thing that I did! Everything we needed to know about setting up WiFi for our customers while keeping the store computers secure, how to keep other devices off of our Bluetooth system, how to keep everything running flawless, and far more information than we even expected to need to know! We actually learned how everything works and now we understand the system, so for my father that is a huge breakthrough!
This book is perfectly written in terms you can understand. My father was able to keep up with everything I was telling him from this book. This was exactly what we needed, and far exceeded our expectations! A+++
More technical than I expected.
GREAT BOOK FOR HOME NETWORKING.
A good overview of these technologies, but lacking in depth and explanation.
