I totally lived in the lives of Riley & Xavier, the fight they had to endure just to be together, it was a beautiful love story of two people fighting lifes obstacles to eventually find their happy everafter, Xavier typical male had to put up a fight against love and Riley taking a very firm stand, not to end up heartbroken, this story kept you in suspense, you felt you hated Xavier for what he was doing and then routing for Riley to win in this relationship of such painful hurt and then eventually finding her happiness and sweet sweet love. Excellent writing, Ms. Ward paints pictures with words not so much page after page of sex which to me just covers the poor writing by the author I appreciated the story line and the fact that the story moved along smoothly.. now reading the added bonus section and will expect the same great writing and look for more by Ms Ward.
I enjoyed this book. I really like how Riley changed from being a pushover to one that is able to rise above her pain and take matters in her own hands (which was a bit dangerous). Good chemistry between Riley and Xavier. I was disappointed in Xavier and one point and was surprised that Riley forgave him. The story does have a HEA. I believe this is the first book I have read by this author. Look forward to reading more.
I love Alice Ward's books and this one was no exception. I think most of us have been in Rileys position. We swear off a guy knowing he's bad for us, only to fall back into his arms again and again. There's always that one guy we just can't say no to or give up on.so I could relate to her disappointment and disgust every time she fell off the wagon. It was interesting to see how ethical he was in some ways and how unethical he was in others. I liked how one chance nearing can change a person's life. I liked this book and would highly recommend it to others.
Xavier and Riley are two opposites that attract. A special List is something Xavier, Julian, Davis and Sam put together and definitely nothing ordinary. After meeting Riley, Xavier realises he no longer needs or wants to use it and later in Julian's and Summer's story, Julian feels the same. Have fun learning about the "List" the trouble it causes while watching Xavier and Riley fall in love. Quality of writing was wonderful. Proofreading was exemplary. There's no cheating or cliffhanger and you get a happy ending. Ms. Ward does an amazing job once again. Enjoy!
Loved this story as I do most of Alice's stories. This one kept me on the edge of my seat and at one point I almost stopped reading because I thought that it wasn't going to end well but leave it to Alice to bring it around. Now I won't spoil the book but believe me, this story is full of suspense, strong, smart women and sexy, alpha men. So if you like that kind of story, then this is the book for you!
Good read, I'd probably have enjoyed it more, if the premise wasn't so chauvinistic - that was a bit off putting but love conquers all! Xavier Fields and Riley Carson met at his night club and while he was really into her; as required in his agreement with friends, he had to add her to The List. That's when things start to get interesting.
There is an additional free series provided with this title - The Bluegrass Billionaire Trilogy by Alice & Jessica Blake
I haven't read it yet, but I do enjoy Ms. Wards books.
I love how both the main characters evolved throughout the book. This love story was a nail biter at times because I thought it was not going to end the way I wanted it to but I was pleasantly surprised and loved the ending!
